General Information
This group of pages have been posted for the use of everyone visiting our web site.
There is a great deal new and the way it has been laid out. To help you navigate quickly, we have included hyperlinks wherever possible to take you to where you want to go . . . instantly, as well as the usual main group buttons at the top of each page. Drop-down menus will appear from some of these buttons where multiple choices are available. Scroll bars will also appear when necessary to guide you down longer, or across wider, pages.
A new feature of our web site is the Members Area - MWMGOC members can enter their email address and password (obtain this from Michael) to gain entry to this section. Please note, log-in will only work if your club membership is up-to-date. Reminder - 2010 subscriptions are due at the AGM (or by the end of February).
The new site has an extra button to take you to Reading Matter. This area will contains reports on major club events, as well as contributor articles from members and the infrequent series of features on “Rusty”, the first new MGB in our club since Alan B finished his GT in 2007 (although I am not quite certain if it is completely finished yet) - still, it’s been over to France on both Le Jaunt holidays so it can’t be far off. Alan has just confirmed there are still a few jobs left to do. But then, thinking about it, are our cars ever really finished?
Another new web site feature will be the serialisation a new novel written by one
of our members.
The first book is entitled “The Case of Henry’s Blackmail” - an adventurous
crime thriller not currently available in bookshops. If you want to read the whole
book without waiting for the instalments, the last few printed copies are available
from the author, priced £10 each + P&P - contact Michael. If you find you like this
serialisation, 3 further crime mystery novels in the same series could follow.
There have been a great number of changes to our web site and, for the first few weeks, there may be links that don’t work properly or pages which don’t load. I am working my way through every page and link now the web is “live”,to make sure they do but it all takes time. If, in the meantime, you find mistakes (there are bound to be some, especially typo’s) or experience problems opening pages please let the webmaster know. Before you do, try holding down the CTRL key while pressing F5 several times. You may find I have just put the fault or mistake right. Thank you.
And, yes, before I receive an avalanche of emails, the club logo will appear on the home page when I can produce an image this new software will accept . . . .
