Reading Matter
These pages are a new introduction to our web site and I should be grateful for any feedback about their inclusion or content. I am trying to provide another reason for members to keep visiting the club web site on a regular basis and thought serialising a novel might provide such an incentive. Since the Club would have to pay an author for the rights to reproduce their work, I thought I would kick it off with one of the books I have written and had published, back in the distant 1990’s. Other than Stan Mountford, I doubt whether any of you will have had the chance to read it.
The Case of Henry’s Blackmail
is the first novel in the Sebastian Donahoe Crime Mystery Series - it’s a four novel series at present, with plans for more when there’s time. At least two of these novels have never been read by the general public. The idea is to produce a fictional crime series which could happen in normal life. And our fictional detective just happens to drive a classic MG, thus the connection to our great cause . . . I hope you enjoy the story, but be warned - it’s long.

If you have missed an instalment, or want to reading the whole novel more quickly, signed copies are available from the author at £10 each (+P&P) - contact Michael direct
Another serialisation I propose to put on the web is:
RUSTY
This infrequent serialisation will illustrate the whole process of building a new MGB Roadster, starting with a Heritage bodyshell and continuing until we take the car for its first holiday trip to France - Le Jaunt 3 in 2010. Mark Evans need not worry, these articles will be nothing like his TV programme/DVD. If any members are interested and want to come and see work in progress, come along to MG PlayGroup on Wednesdays (9am - 3pm). Best to ring first though, sometimes we are too exhausted to play!
Where my rebuild will differ from others in the past is the premise I am using for the project. I am attempting to build the Roadster I want, using only quality (new or reconditioned) parts and aim to do it without spending any money by the end of the project. Yes, there will be some expenditure along the way, but I think I have seen a way to recoup that outlay and even turn it into a slight profit - well, we shall see but it will be fun trying . .
